Experience this year's essential stories of bravery, resilience, peace, and reconciliation, and all for free. The annual Film for Peace and International Peace Festival returns to Toronto this September
International Peace Festival, in collaboration with the UNU-INWEH | United Nations University, will promote Global Peace and Unity through film festival, music, art exhibits, and cultural exchange. The International Peace Festival (IPF) is a worldwide movement dedicated to fostering peace, unity, and cultural understanding through art, music, dialogue, and community-building. This year, we are honored to announce our collaboration with the UNU-INWEH, amplifying our shared mission on a global scale.
The program will spotlight films addressing Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) themes — from gender equality to climate action. Filmmakers worldwide were invited to submit entries. Awards will be presented at the close of the festival segment. We are excited to share updates on this year’s International Peace Festival, with a special spotlight on the Film for Peace.
The International Peace Festival is a Canadian nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting peace through the arts. IPF's mission is to inspire, motivate, and engage people to solve conflicts without resorting to violence. Through education, awareness, and the arts, we measure the impact of our programs, which have a youth focus, as young people are all society’s changemakers. The festival coincides with UN International Day of Peace and connects an international audience of artists, peace activists, human/civil rights advocates, educators, diplomats, and youth organizers with a focus on the next generation of “peace champions”.

Best Supporting Actress Zena
Best Student Short Film Yirui
Windows: Dancer YiRui was recovering from an injury at home. She passed by different families to practice walking in her neighbourhood and heard disputes and fights through their windows. Also during this time, YiRui found a girl named Tang Tang who locked herself in the room because she became deaf after an accident. YiRui began to dance in front of TangTang's window to offer her positive energy so that Tang Tang can gain hope in her life. Eventually, Tang Tang walked out of her house and danced with YiRui, and the same for other local residents who stopped arguing and dancing with them on the street.
